What flee does

flee gives you a short link to put in a social profile. When someone taps it, flee passes them to the browser their phone normally uses, then sends them on to the destination you chose. The aim is simple: fewer people lost on the way to your page.

Your account

You need an account to create links. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

Your links

You choose where every link points, and you can change or delete it whenever you like. You are responsible for the destination and for having the right to send people there. Links used for malware, phishing, or anything unlawful will be removed, and the account with them.

Paying

Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, who handle the payment details; we never see your card. Cancel whenever you want from your account and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices can change with notice, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid.

Availability

We work to keep links resolving quickly and constantly, but we do not promise that the service is never interrupted. Some phone apps and browsers behave in ways nobody outside those companies controls, and how a link opens can change when they update.

Platforms we depend on

flee works by moving a visitor from an app's built-in browser (Instagram, Threads, TikTok and others) to the browser on their phone. That depends on how those apps and the phone's operating system behave, and none of them are ours. Meta, ByteDance, Apple, Google and similar companies can change, restrict or block this at any time, without notice and without our involvement. If they do, a link may open inside the app again, open with an extra tap, or stop opening until we find another way. We will keep the service working as well as we can, but we cannot guarantee that any particular app will keep allowing it.

Takedowns

If a platform, hosting provider, payment provider, or a lawful request from an authority requires us to disable a link, a destination, an account, or the service for a region, we will comply. Where we can, we will tell you what happened and why. A takedown that starts with a request or a rule from one of these third parties is outside our control.

Refunds

Subscriptions are paid monthly in advance and are not refunded for the current period. In particular, there is no refund, credit, or extension when a link, an account, or the service stops working because of a platform change, a platform or provider request, or a takedown as described above, or because a destination you chose is taken down or changes on its own. You can always cancel from your account so that no further month is charged.

Using the site script

If you place our script on your own website, you are responsible for that website, for having the right to add the script, and for what happens there. The script only sends visitors who arrive from inside an app to the browser on their phone, on the same page they were on, and reports a click count to us. Everything above about platforms, takedowns and refunds applies to it in the same way.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk. If we do, we will tell you why where we can.

Liability

flee is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost sales, lost data, or other indirect losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months.
